FAQ

How long have you been photographing weddings? How did you get into this industry?

2023 is my third year photographing weddings. I have spent the past five years working full time in the venue management portion of the wedding industry after attaining my bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management in 2019 - I fell in love with events, and never looked back!

Why should we hire you?

While I certainly hope you love the images that I create and my artistic style, my great strengths are in events. I love working with people and I love working in events - and I want to use my experience in hospitality to make your planning process as easy as possible, while making sure we can create beautiful memories together.

What does your backup process look like?

My cameras write each image to two memory cards, in the moment, so there are automatically two copies of your images before I even leave your wedding. As soon as I get home, I make three additional copies of your images to three separate hard drives. I never delete the images from the memory cards until after your final gallery has been delivered - so there are five existing copies of your images throughout my entire editing process.

What is your style of photography?

Weddings require a beautiful and eclectic mix of styles, but my strength is in photojournalistic work. I will, of course, pose and direct in the moments that need it - but photojournalism allows you to be most present in the moment. I am just here to document.

Do we need to have a second photographer for our wedding or event?

I always include a second photographer - the value of having a second set of eyes allows me to focus on my work more creatively and provide a broader range of images (but I also love the insurance of having extra equipment and an extra person on site)

Do you have insurance?

Absolutely. I am too paranoid not to. :)
Many venues require insurance; please let me know if you need me to send them a copy!

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you can't be there (in the event of an emergency)?

This is a huge reason why I always have a second photographer with me, so there is always another photographer who can be on-site. I have a really wonderful network of photographers that could step in, if needed, as well.

What equipment do you use?

My main camera body is a Canon 5D Mark IV, which I love. I primarily use a 24-70mm lens and a 35mm lens. I have a backup Canon camera body as well.

Do you ever photograph two weddings in a day? or in a weekend?

I will never photograph two weddings in a day - that is too much for me to juggle, and I want to make sure that I can fully focus on each individual client. I will occasionally photograph two weddings in a weekend, but it's very rare and situational.

Do you travel?

Absolutely! I love to travel and have a whole list of priority locations that might even have a discount... hint hint

Do you provide video services?

No, but I have some wonderful videographer connections that I am happy to send to you!

What if it rains?

I am comfortable with photographing in the rain (as long as it's non-torrential and safe) - unless you tell me you'd prefer not to. I love rain or shine sessions and think the rain adds such a beautiful element to the story!

I've never had my photo taken - what do I do with my hands?!

That's what I'm here for - and I get it! I hate being on the other side of the camera, so I can appreciate how you feel. I promise, I'll give you plenty of prompts to help you feel comfortable and look your best.
